Enrollment – Matriculation – Transfers

Enrollment in the institution can only be obtained as a student. Concurrent enrollment in more than one course at the same institution is prohibited. In special cases and upon specific petition, the School Board may grant a leave of absence from this restriction, in accordance with Law no. 33 of April 12, 2022 and its implementing decrees.
In order to be admitted to a degree program, one must hold a five-year high school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad that is recognized as suitable by current national regulations. For diploma or other courses, the knowledge required for access is defined, the methods of verification of which, including at the conclusion of any preparatory educational activities, are referred to the corresponding educational regulations of the courses of study.
To be admitted to a master's degree program, one must possess a bachelor's degree, a university degree of three years' duration, a degree, recognized as suitable under special laws, or another degree obtained abroad recognized as suitable. For admission to the Ph.D. program, one must hold a master's degree, or a bachelor's degree or a degree according to the regulations to Ministerial Decree 509/99, or another degree obtained abroad and recognized as suitable.
Instructional activities for each Academic Year begin on the first useful day of October and end on or near September 30 of the following calendar year. The University calendar, approved by the Institute according to the general rules issued by the Institute Council, begins with the beginning of the academic year and ends at its end and is issued before the beginning of each academic year. Transparency and communication of information: the contents, schedules and deadlines of all educational activities, class schedules, and exam schedules are published in the Academic Course Guide by the start of classes for the Academic Year. Any changes or additions to the above statement will be published as soon as they occur.
Those who have completed the entire course of studies without obtaining a degree or diploma, or who, for any reason, have interrupted such studies, if they wish to exercise their rights arising from registration, are required to pay the appropriate fee [iscrizione fuori corso]. Those who, although having fulfilled this obligation, do not take exams for eight consecutive years, must renew their course registration and retake the tests already passed.
The Institute's website publishes the minimum number of subjects in which students must enroll during their planned years of study in order to earn the degree or diploma they wish to obtain. The following courses are activated for A.Y. 2023-2024: Diploma in Islamic sciences and humanities: 3 years Arabic language diploma: 2 years Teaching training diploma: 2 years Some courses include mandatory internship periods with accredited institutions during the course of teaching activities. Studies completed and examinations passed at the Institute will have legal value once the Institute obtains appropriate recognition from the Italian state.
Only regularly enrolled students are admitted to courses, practical or experimental exercises and demonstrations. Payment of the first installment of the tuition fee, any contributions, stamp duty and the regional fee for the right to study, allows you to attend classes, tutorials, laboratories, book exams and receive certificates.
On petitions concerning students' educational careers, the rectors and directors shall provide, after hearing the opinion of the relevant Courses and Departments. The orders of the dean and directors are final. Those who intend to transfer to another university must apply to the Dean of the Institute, enclosing the approval of the destination university (only in the case of transfer to courses with a programmed number). Fees paid up to that point and any other contributions are non-refundable. From the date the application is accepted, it is no longer possible to take exams, attend classes, tutorials or labs, use the Institute's student services. Students who apply to transfer, during the course of their studies, from one to another faculty or course with higher fees must pay the difference to obtain such a transfer.
The amounts for enrollment and attendance are established before each Academic Year or at the beginning of each course of study and are published on the Institute's website. There is an option to installment the total amount in the manner and time specified on the Institute's website for each course of study. Contributions related to the certificate of degree or diploma or specialization or doctorate or master's degree or other qualifications are paid separately, according to the appropriate table published by the Institute on the website. Once legal recognition of the degrees awarded by the Institute as an academic institution has been obtained, each student will also be required to pay the regional university fee, the amount of which is set annually by the Veneto Region. The Institute will enter into agreements with public and private entities to provide scholarships for reduced fees and contributions for the most deserving students.
Exam session dates are published in the study calendar for each course. Exceptional sessions may be determined by the School Board, after consultation with faculty and students. The School Board may also consider special cases related to people with special needs and distance students. Examinations may be conducted in oral, written, practical, or a combination thereof, as determined by the School Board. Three examination sessions are scheduled in each semester. The first session begins immediately at the end of each semester. The second session begins after a lapse of time from the first regular session of at least 14 days. The third session is in September before the start of the new Academic Year. Dates of examination calls are set in the university calendar does not allow other examination teaching except by decision of the School Board, student opinion, critical cases, people with special needs and distance students are taken into consideration. The exams will cover the course content taken at the end of the semester to verify the results of the training activity in achieving the expected learning objectives, and it is given a score of 15 points. The final grade consists of the total semester grades plus the final exam grade for each course. The student is not entitled to take the examinations - unless an exception is established by the School Board - in the following cases: (a) Failure to perfect payment of tuition fees. (b) Failure to attend the minimum time period stipulated in each course for attendance, in-person and distance learning (70%). Every student has the right to appeal and have his or her grade corrected if his or her complaint is upheld, according to the established procedures. He/she is, in addition, entitled to retake the exam to improve the grade if he/she rejects the grade of the previous exam. Examinations are held according to the nature of the courses subject to the approval of the School Board as follows: A - Written or oral examinations at the headquarters of the Institute according to the examination schedule, taking into account the sufficient time between examinations of various subjects and considering the opinion of students in this regard. B- For some teachings, some written or oral tests are allowed to be conducted remotely, as long as arrangements for monitoring them are ensured. C- Examinations for courses in the Holy Quran and its recitation will be in accordance with the nature of this subject. D- Examinations for field training courses are conducted according to the appropriate regulations. C- Examinations for undergraduate research courses are conducted according to the appropriate regulations. E- Courses of special character are established by specifically issued decisions. F - Semester assignment grades are assigned by the course instructor, based on exams, assignments, activities, attendance and participation according to the nature of each course.
A student is considered eligible when he or she obtains at least 18% of the grade assigned to the subject and the grade is expressed as (Pass/Fail). The student can get praise if he or she deserves it. The professor is expected to be fair and transparent in evaluation, and the Institute must establish procedures to ensure this achievement. The student has the right to know the evaluation mechanism and get his or her grade if he or she meets the requirements. Privacy must also be respected in the announcement and publication of exam grades on the electronic portal. Honorable mention is granted to students who have passed the final exam with highest marks and assiduous attendance at classes (online and in-person), subject to the agreement of the majority of the Academic Council members. Degrees issued by the Institute will have legal value only when the Institute has completed the path of recognition by the Italian state. Professional licensing may require additional state examinations according to the provisions of current laws.

L’Institute adopts the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) standard for evaluating student performance in higher education in the European Union. Students who pass exams are given a grade corresponding to that system; in the European system, one academic year is equivalent to 60 college credits, which are recognized in European Union countries.

Titles are issued by the Institute to each student after the completion of the course of study and the regular payment of All related taxes and fees. The completion of the course of study is equivalent to passing intermediate and final examinations according to the schedule and procedures defined at the beginning of the degree or diploma courses by part of the Institute and published on its website.
