The stable Islamic presence in Italy and the continued growth of Islamic centers and institutions
in the Italian territory, have created the need for specialized institutions in teaching Islamic sciences and humanities, with the aim of filling the need of Muslims in learning Islamic sciences, Islamic culture and spiritual guidance. In addition, the same number of Islamic researchers and individuals eager to learn about Islamic culture is steadily growing. Based on these assumptions, the “Italian Institute of Islamic and Humanistic Studies” was founded as an independent institution with the aim of training spiritual leaders and local teachers (who are) committed to social causes, knowledgeable about their religion and aware of the Italian and European reality. The institute aims to create bridges of dialogue and knowledge for society at large and for researchers in the narrower sense.
The Institute went through several stages before it was founded; today it finally opens its doors to scholars and researchers, hoping that it can spread the light of wisdom, achieve its goals and bring together the best students and researchers, the best teachers and leaders. This is in order to serve as a valuable resource for the context in which it was established, keeping pace with the science and knowledge with which Italy and Europe abound, leaving a concrete mark in the field of Islamic sciences and humanities. With joint efforts, we will celebrate pioneering achievements related to the Institute’s vision, mission and goals in the near future.
